I believe that this value alone, if lived by, has the power to transform ourselves and those around us. I by no means pretend to live up to it perfectly. I do believe that values and principles should challenge us to be and do better, to truly unlock the potential that is within us as human beings.

The following are also important, but in my view will flow from living by the golden rule.

• Make allowances when people disappoint you, tomorrow you may be disappointing them
• Don't get too full of yourself
• Live thankfully
• Treasure life
• Go for the win
• Walk your talk
